In the 1940's, a trolley bus turned around in a building structure on I believe, Lake Dr. Just north of Newberry and the entrance to Lake Park. If anyone remembers that I'd appreciate any comments. My mother would take my brother and me to the park on Sundays, pick up a box of Crackerjack and then we'd sit with the crowd, on the lawn, around the bandstand and listen to John P Sousa marches. It was during WWII so there were great displays of patriotism.

At the same time, for a kid, it was just great to be out in the open on a warm day and Lake Park was a fantastic place to hike along 'secret' trails.
