Title: Bowling Show
Post by: Trisha on February 06, 2010, 11:22:00 PM
I am looking for help from anyone who may have information on a bowling television show which featured Milwaukee youth.  My boss was featured on the show when he was in his early teens ('60s) and I was wondering if there would be archive footage anywhere.  I'm working on this for a retirement gift, so I have very little to work with and any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I remember a show called: Bowling for dollars, with Dick Johnson.  Maybe you can Google it.

Here's a partial list of the Bowling shows from years past. I doubt if any recordings were made in the early 60's due to the expense, those shows were broadcasted live to a local audience.

Junior Bowling With The Champs ( Red Carpet Celebrity/same as Bowling With The Champs) [1976-1981]
Scotch 300 Doubles - Bowlero [1976-1982]

WVTV (18)
Kings and Queens Bowling [1967-1968] (Different lane each week)
Bowling for Dollars [1971-1974] - a franchised program offered to local markets (Red Carpet Lanes North) [September 13, 1976 - January 6, 1978] on WISN (channel 12 ABC) which used alleys built in the station's studios.
Pins Over [October 5, 1975 - May 6, 1976]
The Bowling Game (with Lee Rothman and Tom Kohl) - Red Carpet Lanes North/Regency (lanes 59 & 60) 6014 N 76th S [August 26, 1974 - Jan 2, 1987]
WDJT-TV (CBS 58) picked up the show for a thirteen-week run Friday nights at 7pm, beginning April 28, 1989. The last show was on August 4. On Monday, January 29, 1990, the show returned Mon-Fri at 7pm. It ran through Wednesday, July 31, 1991.
