Title: TaTa Ryby
Post by: tommyk on February 03, 2013, 04:49:10 PM
Does anybody out there remember TaTa Ryby (father fish.  Does anybody know anything about him besides he wore black, had a long beard, had a cigar and a baseball team named after him, was in parades on Lincoln Avenue, and would walk thru Kosciuszko Park a lot?   I am working with an anthropologist who wants to do a story and a play on him.  This guy was a Lincoln Ave, Kosciuszko park icon in the 40's and 50's.  Everybody in the Kosciuszko Park area remembers him,,but,,,no one knows his name, where he lived, worked, how he got the name Tata Ryby.  I have run dry on leads to follow.  Please help.   Tom Kondrakiewicz   tommyk@milwpc.com.

I remember my Mom and aunts always taled about him. You might check out the Polish Flat museum next to Rozga`s Funeral Home on 7th and Lincoln. The man that lives in the house west of that has lived there since he was a born. He`s in his late 80`s now, but he would remember him. His name is Gene.
